West Bend 74766 Countertop Convection Toaster Oven

The large capacity of the West Bend 74766 Countertop Convection Toaster Oven allows it to accommodate a 12-inch pizza, or one whole large chicken, or a 5-pound roast. This means that it can cook for a couple and their two children without ever having to use the full-size oven. And because convection ovens cook faster or at lower temperatures than their conventional cousins, it spells less power consumption.

The housing of the West Bend 74766 is rather large at 17.5″ W x 16″ D x 10.5″ H. This is necessary because of its extra-large capacity. It is constructed mainly out of stainless steel, with the main body colored in silver while the front panel is black. A large glass door provides full-view of the food cooking inside the oven.

On the left hand side of the oven are three dials. One of these is a 60-minute timer that turns the oven on and automatically stops it when the set number of minutes is reached. When it does, a warning bell sounds to let you know. It also has a stay on option in case you’d rather visually monitor the food, or you do not know how long it takes to cook.

Another dial sets oven temperature levels. These range from 150°F to 450°F. At these levels, you can quickly toast bread and bagels, bake pizza, or roast beef or chicken.

A third dial allows you to choose which of the heating elements to use. You can opt for either the upper or lower element for broiling or warming. When baking or toasting, however, it is recommended to use both elements.

Below the dials is a separate switch than controls the oven’s convection function. When turned on, a fan inside the oven chamber is activated, which evenly circulates the heated air inside resulting in the elimination of hot spots. This, in turn, leads to even and faster cooking.

The interior of the West Bend 74766 Countertop Convection Toaster Oven consists of non-stick material for ease of cleaning. It comes with a chrome bake rack, pizza disc, bake pan, and broil grid.
