The oven, however, goes far beyond looking good. It is a multi-functional kitchen appliance that lets you toast breads, bake cookies and cakes, convection bake to quickly cook poultry or meats, broil pork or fish, warm leftovers, and defrost stone hard frozen meats. These functions are easily accessed through the digital function buttons on the control panel.
The buttons also include a pre-determined setting for baking pizza allowing you to quickly begin cooking this Italian food that has become a global favorite including among Americans. The default setting for this is a 20-minute cooking time at a temperature of 400°F. Temperature and time setting buttons, a light switch, and start and stop buttons are also included.
The oven is large enough to accommodate a 12-inch pizza or a 13″ x 9″ baking pan. Two possible rack positions allow you to move the rack to a lower level to have sufficient room for a whole chicken or a casserole or a tall roast. Through the large glass door, you can easily monitor the food cooking inside.
Temperature ranges from 150° to 450F°, with the lower levels intended for toasting breads and thawing frozen foods and the higher levels for baking and broiling. Heating comes from two heating elements. Depending on the function selected, either only one or both will light up.
A broil rack and an enamel baking pan come with the oven. Both are removable for easy cleaning. The interior walls are likewise easy to clean. Apart from cleaning, no other maintenance is necessary to keep your Oster TSSTTVMNDG Digital Toaster Oven in perfect working condition.
