Hamilton Beach 31197 Countertop Convection Oven
With its extra large size and capacity, the Hamilton Beach 31197 Countertop Convection Oven can convection bake two 12-inch pizzas simultaneously, broil a five-pound chicken, cook a large casserole, or bake a cake. Indeed, you can prepare the entire family meal in this oven without even using your cooking stove or cook top from the soup right down to dessert.
The Hamilton Beach 31197 is 19 inches long, 16 inches wide, and 13.5 inches high. It has a large clear glass window that provides you with a full view of the food inside so you can readily see if it needs more cooking. Mounted on the glass is the door handle that is always cool even while the oven is running.
To the left of the window is the control panel that features three intuitive and easy-to-use knobs for choosing and controlling the oven’s functions. The topmost dial is for setting the cooking temperature that could be from 150° to 500°F. The one in the middle chooses the desired function –broil, bake, convection, or rotisserie. The bottom knob is the on and off switch that incorporates a timer. It can be set for a “continuous on” option, or timed to stop after a specified number of minutes from 10 to 120.
When the convection function is chosen, cooking time is reduced by as much as 33% compared to conventional ovens, thus saving you not only time but also on electric costs. This is because the oven’s fan continuously and evenly circulates heated air within the oven thus enveloping the food.
The oven has a rotisserie that you can use for roasting veal, pork, or lamb racks. It also comes with two chromed oven racks, a slide out tray, rotisserie skewer with forks along with a lift, and a pizza pan.
