Equipped with a fan that circulates hot air inside the oven, the DeLonghi DO1289 Digital Convection Oven cooks food 30 – 40% faster and more evenly than conventional ovens. This also results in a quick browning of the food surface, thus trapping all its tasty juices inside.
The interior of the oven is large enough for a large chunk of roast, a medium size chicken, a medium size casserole, six slices of bread, or two 12-inch pizzas. This means that it can cook enough food for a couple with two kids, leaving the large wall oven for special occasions and saving on electric bills in the process.
With the DO1290, you can defrost stone hard food, broil hamburgers, hotdogs, or kebabs, toast breads, keep cooked food warm, and bake cookies, bagels, and pizza. When cooking pizza, you can use any of the eight pre-programmed pizza settings which include preset cooking time and temperature for frozen as well as fresh pizza. And when making cookies, use the smart cookie function to bake perfect batches.
Choosing the desired function is quick and easy with the oven’s digital controls. There is a single dial for setting the function and temperature, and another for setting the timer. With the timer, you can set the oven to automatically shut down within two hours so you need not keep looking inside to monitor the food. Simply set the recommended cooking time of your recipe and forget about it. The oven will let you know when your food is ready.
If you opt to go manual and monitor the food by sight, you can also do so as the oven has a large clear window and an interior light giving you a clear view inside.
