You can bake, convection bake, broil, or toast with the Calphalon convection oven simply by pushing a few buttons. With a temperature range of 150° to 450°F, you can cook different kinds of food. If you are not sure how long and at what temperature should you bake your bagels, cookies, or pizza, you can choose the pre-set time and temperature levels.
Opting for convection bake, the oven’s OptiHeat system is activated assuring you that heat is evenly distributed within. Internal sensors installed within the oven walls monitor temperatures and activate the convection fan to promote even browning and cooking of your food.
There are two pairs of slots into which the supplied rack can be inserted. The lower slots are used when cooking poultry or large chunks of meat. When toasting, baking cookies, or broiling flat slices of meat or fish, the upper pair of slots can be used to bring them at a point where they are in between the upper and lower heating elements. This means heat from above and below is more or less equal.
Controlling time and temperature and choosing the desired cooking option is accomplished with buttons and dials mounted on the control panel. A digital high-contrast LCD screen displays chosen settings.
