Breville’s The Smart Oven BOV800XL

Prometheus stole fire from Zeus and gave it to humans, after which they learned how to cook their food, perhaps accidentally. Since then, men and women have been looking for ways to improve the taste of their food and at the same time make cooking quicker and easier. The Breville’s The Smart Oven is a step into this direction.
Looking contemporary in stainless steel with a glass window, an LCD display above buttons and dials, The Smart Oven is an eye-catching appliance to add to your countertop. With measurements of 18.5″ L x 16.25″ W x 11.25″ H, it is just about the same size as a microwave oven.
Beneath the shiny steel is an 1800-watt convection toaster oven that features nine pre-set functions –toast, bagel, bake, roast, broil, pizza, cookies, reheat, and warm; Element IQ™; and an automatic rack eject.
You can activate the different functions by simply rotating the “Function” dial, checking the blue back-lit LCD screen to see if the arrow is pointing to the chosen function, and pressing the “Start/Cancel” button. Pre-programmed temperatures and cooking time are then activated. You can, however, reset these to suit your tastes by simply adjusting the “Temp” and “Time” dials. The Element IQ™ saves your personal settings so that the next time you use The Smart Oven, it will remember them. When you are through cooking, opening the glass door will automatically eject the rack making it easy to remove the cooked food.
Five quartz elements heat and cook your food, with three positioned at the top while the remaining two are at the bottom. Which of these five are actually used depends on the function chosen and the temperature level desired.
The interior of the oven is made of non-stick material with a back that is double-walled. It has a capacity of 0.8 cubic feet and comes with a removable crumb tray for ease of cleaning.
