Black & Decker TO1640B Countertop Convection Oven
Designed for a small family, the Black & Decker TO1640B Countertop Convection Oven can be used to cook breakfast, lunch, and supper including snacks. This does not mean, however, that large families have no use for it, as it can always be used as a second or supplementary oven in case the main course is still in the larger oven.
With heating elements powered up to 1,500 watts, you can bake, broil, toast, keep your food warm, and defrost stone hard meat or poultry. What makes these functions better and quicker than in conventional ovens is the TO1640B’s convection function. This evenly circulates hot air inside the oven distributing heat within the chamber without leaving any cold spots. The result is a uniformly cooked food that is completed in about 25% less time or 25% less temperature level.
The interior of the TO1640B convection oven is roomy enough to accommodate 6 slices of toast, a large casserole, a 12-inch pizza for snacks, or a medium-sized chicken. With the two rack slots, you can adjust the height of the rack to have enough room for bigger roasts or casseroles.
A nonstick coat lines the inner walls of the oven making it easy to clean of food particles that may have been stuck on them. To catch drippings from your roast or bread crumbs from your toasts, a crumb tray is supplied with the unit. It is removable to facilitate washing.
Three control dials are mounted at the front panel of the oven. The top dial sets temperature levels allowing you to precisely control cooking temperatures. The dial in the middle is used to set function. The bottom dial is a timer that allows you to set the oven to automatically shut off at any length of time within 60 minutes. When it does, an alarm bell sounds to let you know. It also includes a stay-on setting if you are not sure how long your food should cook. In this case, you can check if your toast or roast is brown enough through the large glass window.
